The Allstate Foundation recently gave $2,500 to the LOA Area Agency on Aging to fund safety programs for seniors. This funding will provide safety surveys of seniors' homes and educational programs on personal and consumer safety, and crime prevention.

Moss in the Country, the Botetourt chapter of the P. Buckley Moss Society, recently donated $4,110 to The Carilion Medical Center for Children at Roanoke Community Hospital. The donation will be used to purchase equipment for the pediatric clinic and toys for its patients.

The money was raised by raffling a print by P. Buckley Moss, an artist in the Shenandoah Valley.
