Blacksburg (3-4 overall, 2-2 district) began the scoring when Bobby GrahamO went in on a 13-yard pass play from Tommy LaForce. Davis then barreled in from the 1-yard line and the Indians made the two-point conversion to lead 14-0 at halftime.

Davis had another 1-yard touchdown run in the third quarter and sacked the Wildcats' quarterback in the end zone for a safety and a 23-0 lead through three quarters. LaForce then connected with Michael Christ on a 3-yard scoring pass. Scott Long completed the touchdowns with a 2-yard run.

Rockbridge County (3-4, 2-2) turned over the ball six times during a game that was played in a driving rainstorm. The Wildcats fumbled eight times in all.

Grayson County 28, Pocahontas 21: Chad Carrico had 16 carries for 195 yards and three touchdowns as the Blue Devils (4-3, 4-0) held off a late charge by the Indians (5-2, 2-1) in Independence to take control of the Mountain Empire District race.
