ORTHOPEDIC CENTER HIRES ADMINISTRATOR

DONALD J. LOVE has joined Roanoke Orthopaedic Center as administrator. He comes from Carilion Health System, where he was hospital director for Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley.

Love has worked for 17 years in health-care administration at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Gill Memorial Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Hospital and Burrell Nursing Center.

He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, the American Hospital Association, the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association and its Roanoke regional policy council.

BANKING

First Union National Bank of Virginia has announced three executive changes in its Western Virginia region. JIM DAVIS, commercial sales manager for First Union's Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee areas, will become the new market president for the Bristol area while retaining his current position. DOUG TACKETT, First Union's Southwest Virginia consumer banking manager, will become the new market president for First Union's community banking region, which includes several counties north of Bristol. He will continue in the position of consumer banking manager in addition to his new duties. Davis and Tackett will report to CHUCK SALDARINI, Roanoke area president, who will hold the newly created position of western Virginia area president.

COLLEGES

ANNETTE HENDERSON CLARK has been named associate director of annual giving and stewardship at Emory & Henry College. The 1985 graduate of Emory & Henry returns to the campus from Florida where she was director of a preschool.

CONTRACTORS

BRADLEY C. DIEHM has joined Branch & Associates Inc. as contracts administrator. He will be responsible for awarding and overseeing all subcontracts within the estimating department. Diehm comes to Branch from Oak Ridge, Tenn., where worked with Bechtel Corp. for 16 years.

ENVIRONMENT

EVELYN WAGONER of HICO Inc. in Christiansburg has been elected treasurer of the Virginia Environmental Council. P. WESLEY HAMBRICK JR. of Environmental Specialties Inc. in Roanoke has been elected to the board of directors of the council.

HEALTH CARE

WAYNE ARRINGTON has been named director of information services at the Roanoke operation of Diabetes Self Care, a subsidiary of Universal Self Care Inc. based in Livonia, Mich. Prior to his promotion, he was data operations supervisor with the company, which provides equipment, supplies and support services to people with diabetes.

MEDIA

Virginia Press Women has installed officers for a two-year term. From Southwestern Virginia are LYNN NYSTROM, director of news and external relations for the College of Engineering at Virginia Tech, president; MARY ANN H. JOHNSON, a writer and editor at Virginia Tech, treasurer; and NORMA V. LUGAR of Roanoke, Western District director.
