Roanoke poured out a pillar of smoke Sunday afternoon. The

electrical fire started in the rear of 723 Dale Ave. shortly before

noon, and wind carried the flames to 725 Dale Ave., according to

District Fire Chief Bobbie Slayton. 2. Steve Richmond (right), who

lived at 725 Dale, gets sympathy from friend Mary Caldwell-Wells and

her son, William Caldwell. Damages were estimated at $48,000. The

fire was thought to be accidental. No one was injured.
