RED IN THE FACEWE'VE ALL EXPERIENCED LIFE'S EMBARRASSING MOMENTS - MOMENTS SO BAD YOU COULD JUST DIE

Have you ever been really embarrassed? So embarrassed that your face turned red, your ears burned and you felt like running away and hiding?

Sure, we've all been embarrassed at some time. It's part of life.

My most embarrassing moment happened when I was in seventh grade. At my school, seventh-graders ate lunch in the same cafeteria as the high schoolers, which was kind of scary.

Well, one day at lunch I wore my brand new Members Only jacket. It was bright white and I felt really cool wearing it because back then everyone wanted one.

For some reason, I started being mean and making fun of the girl sitting across from me. Suddenly, she stood up and poured an entire cup of ketchup all over me. Everybody started laughing and I turned red - and so did my jacket! Even though I washed the jacket, it always had huge pink stains on it that wouldn't come off.

For the rest of the year, every time I wore that jacket, all the high school kids called me "ketchup boy" or "Mr. Heinz." I felt pretty bad at first, but then I thought it was really funny.

Being embarrassed usually isn't fun, but it's only uncomfortable for a little while.

Hopefully, after we're embarrassed we've learned a lesson. I know what I learned: Don't make fun of a girl if she has a big cup of ketchup on her tray!

We thought it would be fun to share some of your most embarrassing moments. Some of the ones we collected are funny and some of them teach an important lesson. But all of them are very, very embarrassing. Some of them are told here; you'll find others in Mini Forum on Page 2.

One day I climbed up the ladder of the high dive and did a cannon ball. I started up the rungs again and my bathing suit ripped. We went home immediately.

My most embarrassing moment was when I was 3 years old. I was really into Superman and Batman. One day I decided to play like Superman. I pulled my shirt off. Then I pulled my shorts down, ran upstairs, put my cowboy boots on and tied my blanket around my neck like a cape. Then I ran outside in my underwear. When I looked at the sidewalk, these old people were staring at me. I turned beet red.

My most embarrassing moment was when my shorts fell down in the store. I learned not to wear big shorts.

-Corey Willis, fourth grade, Forest Park Elementary

My most embarrassing moment was in Little League basketball. At the beginning of the game they had a jump ball. My teammate tapped the ball to me. I turned around and started dribbling. I thought it was strange that nobody was guarding me. Everybody else was at the other end of the court. I had been going the wrong way! I did a lay-up and fortunately missed it. I got my own rebound and started dribbling the right way.

My most embarrassing moment was when I was playing baseball at my house and my little brother ran out buck naked. I was so embarrassed that I ran behind a tree, laughing my guts out.

My most embarrassing moment happened at my house when all my friends were playing "Catch the Hamster." The hamster decided that he would go up my pants and hide. All of my friends started to laugh. It was pretty funny and my face got red when I pulled my hamster out.

The most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me is when my old teacher Mrs. Johnson made us dance. She said, "Dance now!" So we started to do the limbo all the way to the ground. I fell on my head and I started to laugh.

-Janisha Mann, fourth grade, Forest Park Elementary

My fifth-grade teacher asked a question and I raised my hand. I had a pencil in my hand. I raised my hand very fast and it flew across the room and hit my teacher in the head. I was so embarrassed I didn't know what to do.

-Carma Sample, sixth grade, Andrew Lewis Middle

One day when I was in second grade the art teacher Mr. Sands said, "Do you mind if I use your project as an example?" I said "yes" accidentally.
