Blacksburg writer to give reading at RU

BLACKSBURG - Edward Falco, an award-winning writer and faculty member at Virginia Tech, will read from his work tonight at 6:30 at Radford University's Heth Hall Commonwealth Room.

Falco is the author of the short story collection "Acid," which won the 1995 Richard Sullivan Prize from the University of Notre Dame. One of the stories was published in The Atlantic Monthly and was included in "The Best American Short Stories 1995."

Chamber mixer at Holiday Inn

BLACKSBURG - The Christiansburg-Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce is having a Halloween Business After Hours Mixer today at the Holiday Inn from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The event will the last chance for members to vote for the Montgomery County Ambassador, who will be named at the mixer.
