Danielle Sheldon said Friday she is convinced someone abducted her 2-year-old daughter, Karynne. Police are beginning to think she is right.
``It appears more likely that she was the victim of some kind of foul play,'' Prince William County Police Chief Charlie Deane said.
Authorities scaled back their search for the missing girl Friday but planned what could be a final, intensive sweep of the woods south of Manassas today, Prince William police spokeswoman Kim Chinn said.
``Today's kind of a rest day for the search dogs and a planning day for the search and rescue people to get ready for tomorrow,'' Chinn said Friday. ``We will probably be calling in more than 300 trained searchers and dog teams and do another very thorough search.''
She would not speculate on whether the search would be suspended after today if the child is not found. ``That decision hasn't been made yet,'' she said.
Searchers have failed to find footprints or other physical evidence in the search for Karynne, who disappeared Monday outside a house where her mother worked as office manager for a construction company.
