Staunton River virtually locked up the first VHSL playoff berth in school history with a resounding 43-14 victory over visiting Rustburg in a Seminole District game Friday night.

Martin and Ferguson accounted for all of the Golden Eagles' points until defensive end Adam Ayers tackled Rustburg quarterback Matt Sales in the end zone for a safety.
