A Henry County man was one of two people killed in an accident Saturday afternoon in Kentucky. The driver who caused the collision fled the scene, police said.
Lyle Kenneth Jamison, 33, was westbound on Interstate 64 about 4:45 p.m. when he was forced into the median by a car with Indiana plates, apparently as it tried to change lanes, Woodford County Police Officer Jimmy Sewell said.
Jamison overcorrected and crossed the median into the eastbound lanes where his car glanced off a pickup truck and slid sideways into a tour bus, Sewell said. Jamison was killed instantly.
The bus then hit the pickup, forcing it off the right side of the road, where it flipped several times. A woman wearing a seat belt in the truck received minor injuries. Her husband, who was not belted, was thrown from the vehicle and killed, Sewell said.
Sewell said the woman driving the car that forced Jamison into the median stopped briefly, then fled.
