BLANEY, Stanley McCall, 65, of Roanoke, passed away in a local hospital on Saturday, October 26, 1996. A native of Roanoke, he was the son of the late Leo Blaney and Lula Archer. He was educated in Roanoke City Schools. After many years of working as manager for Lincoln Terrace and Lansdowne Apartments, he took disability retirement from the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority. He was active with the Boy Scout program, working with scout troops for many years. Survivors include his devoted wife, Mrs. Frances Price Blaney; three daughters, Dr. Beverly Lynn Blaney of Detroit, Mich., Ms. Tracy Blaney and Mary E. Blaney, Esquire, of Roanoke; two sisters, Mrs. Frances (Robert) Brown and Ms. Charlene Bratton of Roanoke; one brother, Hunter Blaney of Bronx, N.Y.; his stepfather, V. Maceo Bratton of Roanoke; a foster brother, Jeffrey Jones of Mechanicsville; sisters-in-law, Vivian (Donald) Pierce, Helene (Steve) Seymour and Yvonne (Rev. Carl) Tinsley of Roanoke; brothers-in-law, George (Charlotte) Price, Lawrence Price, Cornice (Lucille) Price and Vance (Gloria) Price; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; nephews, and many other relatives. BOWMAN, Maury Kyle, 61, of Ferrum, died Saturday evening, October 26, 1996, at his home due to an accident. He was a member of Pigg River Old German Baptist Church, and spent his life serving the agriculture community. Surviving are his wife, Arlene Peters Bowman; children and spouses, Warren L. Bowman of Rocky Mount, Douglas and Susan Bowman of Ferrum, Beverly and Daniel Wisler of Wirtz, Hazel and Sam Slothour of Chambersburg, Pa., Floyd and Mary Louise Bowman of North Manchester, Ind., and Norris and Kathy Bowman of Ferrum; 22 grandchildren; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy and Cleophas Angle of Rocky Mount and Janie Hubbard of Troutville; one brother and sister-in-law, Vaiden and Virginia Bowman of Rocky Mount; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wm. Denton and Ruth Peters of Rocky Mount; a special friend and business associate, Robert Halsey; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Pigg River Old German Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, with the Home Brethren officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Clearview Cemetery. DEAN, Beth Suzanne, 17, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 1996, as the result of an automobile accident. She was a senior at Franklin County Idea Center. DICKENSON, Pearl Gray, 90, of Montvale, died Saturday, October 26, 1996, in Richfield Nursing Center. He was born in Russell County on June 10, 1906, a son of the late Robert Jackson Dickenson and Ada Johnston Dickenson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Thomas Dickenson, and a daughter, Jeanette Smith. He was a retired welder and steam fitter, and was a member of Montvale Baptist Church. He is survived by two sons, Thomas J. Dickenson of Montvale and James D. Dickenson of Longwood, Fla.; a daughter, Jewel D. Swartz of Montvale; three sisters, Alice D. Curry of Cedar Point, Ind., Hazel D. Patterson of Morristown, Ind., and Lelia D. Foote of Louisville, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. PREDDY, Rufus Purvy, III, (``Bucky""), 43, of Roanoke, died peacefully Saturday, October 26, 1996, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. A recent retiree of Bell Atlantic, he was a fun-loving member of Roanoke Harley Owners Group, and missed being able to ride with his many caring friends. He was the son of the late Bernice Cundiff Preddy and R. P. (``Bob"") Preddy Jr. Surviving are his loving wife, Deborah Lockhart; two stepsons, Eric and Scott Lockhart of the home; two sisters, Annette P. Waldron and Jeanette E. Preddy of Roanoke; a brother, John (``Bobby"") Preston of Indianapolis, Ind., and three nephews, Michael, Del and Matt Waldron.
