ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Blue Ridge Parkway travel in the Roanoke district and Virginia is down from last year. The Roanoke district counted 108,355 travelers last month, down 1.6 percent from 110,169 in September 1995. In Virginia, the count fell 3.9 percent, to 799,667 visitors from 832,049. Overall travel on the scenic highway was up 6.8 percent because of a 13.9 percent increase in North Carolina.
