MAN DIED ON 581 OF HEART ATTACK

A Northwest Roanoke man found dead in his truck Thursday suffered a heart attack while driving along Interstate 581, a medical examiner said.

After Bennie Joe Brant, 40, of Ravenwood Avenue had the attack, his truck went off the left side of the road, into the median and struck a concrete drain.

City utility workers discovered Brant's body about noon when they spotted his pickup in the median just north of the Orange Avenue exit and stopped to check it out.
