BAUGH, George Sheffey, Sr., 90, of Pulaski, died Sunday, November 3, 1996. Funeral 11 a.m. Tuesday, Thomas M. Seagle and Sons Funeral Home.

BENNETT, Stella Kosnoski, 91, of Boones Mill, passed away Sunday, November 3, 1996 at Friendship Manor. S he was a member of Red Valley United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by a son, Bob Selkirk. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Roscoe Dale and Muriel Bennett, Boones Mill, William and Margaret Selkirk, Richmond, Ind., John and Dee Selkirk, Stuart, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Norma Jean and Doug Cecil, Wirtz; a daughter-in-law, Doris Selkirk, Roanoke; a stepdaughter, Violet Irvin, Roanoke; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Hall Layland, W. Va., Peggy Willis, Oakhill, W. Va. Funeral services will be conducted 11:30 a.m. Tuesday from Oakey's Vinton Chapel, with Pastor Jim Opetaia-Williamson officiating. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Roanoke City Rescue Mission, 402 Fourth Street, S.E., Roanoke, Va. 24013. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, where the family will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.

BOSSERMAN, Raymond Christian, of Staunton, died Thursday, October 24, 1996, in Shenandoah Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech and received his Master's Degree from the University of Virginia. He was t he retired Supervisor of Training at Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville. Survivors include his wife, Ramona Johnson Bosserman; four brothers, Charles David Bosserman of Fredericksburg, Robert Tebbs Bosserman of Harrisonburg, Randall Garrison Bosserman (twin brother) of Richmond and Paul Kerlin Bosserman of Silver Spring, Md., and a sister, Mary Jane Grier of Triangle. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 26, at Tink-ling Springs Presbyterian Church in Augusta County. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Tinkling Springs Presbyterian Church, Box 300-A, Fishersville, Va. 22939; Staunton-Augusta SPCA, P. O. Box 2014, Staunton, Va. 22401, or your favorite charity.

BROOKS, Althea Lowe, 75, of Vinton, passed away Saturday, November 2, 1996. She was a member of D.A.V. Auxiliary, the Vower., the N.O.A.C., Amvets Post 40, and a member of the Eagles Club. She is survived by four sons, William Samuel Reeves of Salisbury, N.C., James Wayne Reeves of Columbia, S.C., Doyle Burnett Reeves of Leicester, N.C. and Robert Allen Reeves of Louisiana; a daughter, Anna Lee Fowler of Fletcher, N.C.; two sisters, Jane L. Lovelace of Ashville, N.C. and Burch Suthard of Leicester, N.C.; a brother, William Lowe of Rincon, Ga.; a stepson, Buford Lee Brooks, Jr. of Georgia. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 5, 1996, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, with V.F.W Post 1264 and the V.F.W. Auxiliary conducting services. V.F.W. Auxiliary services will be 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke.

BUSHNELL, Paul E., 63, of Vinton, passed away, Friday, November 1, 1996. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 4, 1996 at 2 p.m. from the Lotz Vinton Chapel.

CONNER, James Everette, 61, of Copper Hill, passed away Sunday, November 3, 1996, after a long battle with cancer. He was a wonderful man who will be deeply missed here on Earth, but now will be cradled in Heaven. He was born in the Copper Hill section of Floyd County to the late Possie and Ada Conner. He was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Eugene Conner. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Macie Austin Conner of Copper Hill; one son, James Ricky Conner of Copper Hill; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Elizabeth and Jay Perdue of Rocky Mount, Ellen Sue and John Poff of Copper Hill, and Freda Conner and her fiance, Bryan Burr, of Roanoke; one brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Geraldine Conner of Salem; two sisters, Louise Nichols and Fressie Conner of Copper Hill; one sister-in-law, Sue Conner of Rocky Mount; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; several nephews and nieces; extended family, and friends. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gardner Funeral Home in Floyd, with the Rev. Gary Edwards officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Church Cemetery, Copper Hill. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at Gardner Funeral Home, where the family will be from 7 until 9 p.m.

FREEMAN, Pauline, 73, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, November 3, 1996. She was the widow of Robert B. Freeman and a member of First Presbyterian Church. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert S. and Renee Freeman, S. Douglas and Marie Freeman and George H. Freeman of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Tina Philips, Jennifer F reeman, Scott Freeman and Tyler Benjamin Freeman; two great-grandchildren, Robert Philips and Evan Philips; two sisters, Janet Mullins of Middletown, Ohio, and Myrl Moffet of Pasco, Wash.; a brother, James Hudson of Hopewell, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at Oakey's South Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 1996, with Dr. W. Philip West officiating. Interment will be in Sherwood Memorial Park. FRIEL, Anna T., 82, of Callaway, died Saturday evening, November 2, 1996, as the result of an automobile accident. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Friel. Surviving are three sons and daughters-i n-law, Edward and Marlin Friel of Callaway, James and Michele Friel, and William and Signe Friel, all of New York, and 10 grandchildren, Anna, Jonathan, Timothy, Charlene, Benjamin, James, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jennifer and Melissa Friel. Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted from Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Martin Lavin and Sister Fidelis Rubbo officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Roanoke. The family suggests that memorials be made to Callaway Volunteer Fire Department, Callaway, Va. 24067. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday. GILLESPIE, Edward Lee, Sr., 70, of Roanoke passed away Thursday, October 31, 1996. HILL, Beulah King Mabe, 89, of Ivanhoe, died Sunday, November 3, 1996 in the Birdmont Health Care Center in Wytheville, Va. She was born in Wythe County, the daughter of the late Walter P. and Lena Jones King. She was a charter member of the Ivanhoe Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she served as pianist for many years. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ambrose A. Mabe and John R. Hill, and a stepson, Walter R. Mabe. She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold Mabe of Austinville, Burlin and Lillian Mabe of Rt. 3, Wytheville, Beauford and Vinnia Mabe of Bristol, Va.; four stepdaughters and spouses, Edith and Matthew King of Collinsville, Laura and Lee Williams of Wytheville, Henrietta Ingo of Ivanhoe, Hazel Hill of Richmond; two stepdaughters-in-law, Wilma and Martha Hill of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; 15 stepgrandchildren; 34 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 1996, at 1 p.m. at the Ivanhoe Pentecostal Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before service time. The family will receive friends at the Reese Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.

HUFF, Harold Dean, 56, of Pilot, died Friday, November 1, 1996 at his home.
