Top-seeded Randolph-Macon defeated Roanoke 4-1 to win the Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's soccer championship in Ashland on Sunday. The Yellow Jackets captured their 12th title in the past 14 years.
Former Cave Spring High School standout Aimee Beightol opened the scoring for Randolph-Macon in the first half and Carrie Hall added a goal as the Yellow Jackets took a 2-0 halftime lead. Randolph-Macon scored two goals just 1:07 apart midway through the second half, one by Jenny McGregor and another by Hall, to push its lead to 4-0. Angela Amstutz tallied the Maroons' lone goal on a penalty kick with 23:31 remaining.
Sunday's game was the eighth time the Yellow Jackets and Maroons have met for the title and the fifth in the past six seasons. Randolph-Macon will compete in the NCAA Division III national championship tournament. Third-seeded Roanoke finished the season at 12-7-1.

* George Washington ended Virginia Tech's eight-game winning streak by beating the Hokies 2-1 in an Atlantic 10 men's soccer game in Washington.
Matt Whalen gave Virginia Tech (12-7 overall, 7-4 A-10) a 1-0 lead in the 64th minute. Whalen intercepted an errant pass by the Colonials at the top of the goal box and fired a shot. GW goalkeeper Jamie Hadzima saved the shot but was unable to hold onto the ball, and Whalen knocked in the loose ball from 11 yards out.
George Washington (11-6-1, 6-4-1) tied the score four minutes later when Ben Hatton drilled home a 9-yard shot and wrapped up the victory in the 75th minute when Hatton deflected a shot and Marty Williams scored.
nAnnie Sullivan and Pascale Lecuire each scored as Virginia Commonwealth (10-9-1) downed Radford 2-0 in a non-conference women's soccer game in Radford. The Highlanders (5-10-2) outshot Virginia Commonwealth 16-13 but couldn't find the mark against Ram goalkeeper Nicole Baugess.
* Kate Barber scored three goals as North Carolina (18-1) rolled past Radford 5-1 in a non-conference field hockey game in Chapel Hill, N.C. Holly Osmond scored the lone goal for the Highlanders (9-7).
* Adrian Haitz and Deana Daniellawitz scored goals as Greensboro College stopped Ferrum College (5-8-3, 1-5) in a Dixie Conference women's soccer game in Greensboro, N.C.
* Virginia Tech's Marke Tepes and Andrew Krafft won two matches to win the A-2 doubles title at the University of South Carolina Fall Invitational in Columbia, S.C. The Hokies defeated a Wake Forest team 9-7 in the semifinals before beating an East Tennessee State team 8-4 in the final.
Krafft also advanced to the final of the B-1 singles before losing to Virginia's John Winter 6-3, 6-1.
