The Mothers Against Drunk Driving Smith Mountain Lake Chapter will meet tonight at 7 in Grand Pavilion Mall's corporate office on Virginia 419.

Poetry readings at Hollins College

Throughout the fall semester, Hollins College is presenting a variety of authors who will read from their works. The readings will take place Thursdays at 8:15 p.m. in the Green Drawing Room in the Main Building.

The readings are free and open to the public, unless noted.

Hollins graduate and novelist Karen Osborn, author of ``Patchwork'' and ``Between Earth and Sky,'' will present a reading Thursday.

Hilary Masters, whose writing includes a family biography, ``Last Stands: Note From Memory,'' two collections of short stories and two novels, will read from her works Dec. 5. Masters is the son of American poet Edgar Lee Masters, author of ``Spoon River Anthology.''
