America's richest man is going Dutch.

Bill Gates, who quit Harvard University to start Microsoft Corp., was in Loenen, The Netherlands, on Tuesday to receive an honorary doctorate from the country's top business school.

Nijenrode University, the only private Dutch university, lauded Gates for his contribution to making information technology accessible.

The ceremony, in this picturesque Dutch village's church, was attended by Queen Beatrix's father, Prince Bernhard, who officially opened the university 50 years ago after World War II.
