DMV offices closed for Veterans Day

All Department of Motor Vehicles customer service centers will be closed Monday. Customers are advised to renew driver's licenses and license plate decals in the middle of the month, and to avoid renewing the first and last few days of the month and the day after a holiday.

Veterans Day service set in Christiansburg

CHRISTIANSBURG - A Veterans Day service hosted by the American Legion will be held at Sunset Cemetery, South Franklin Street, at 11 a.m. Monday.

Retired Army Reserve Col. John Lemley, the former town manager, will be the featured speaker. Jack Via will moderate the service, which will include the dedication of a new, lighted flag pole. The Joy Singers of St. Paul United Methodist Church will perform at the tribute.
