Lori O'Dell of Dublin recently performed at Radford University's Fall Honors Recital. O'Dell is a music major at Radford, where she studies piano. She is the daughter of John R. O'Dell.

Jamie Brown of Radford is one of 53 first-year students at Guilford College to be named as a Presidential Scholar for the 1996-97 school year. The award is based on leadership abilities and academic merit. The award is a renewable, annual scholarship ranging between $4,000 and $6,000. Brown is a 1996 graduate of Radford High School. She is the daughter of Andrew and Patricia Brown of Radford.

Walter W. Wymer Jr. received his doctorate from the Indiana University School of Business in June. He has accepted a position as assistant professor of marketing at Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, Fla. Wymer is the son of Walter Wymer of Pearisburg and Chris Wymer of Bastian. His wife, Donna, is the daughter of Sherman and Barbara Sligh of Vinton.

Bradley G. Tyndall, a Radford University senior, is spending fall semester as an intern with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Quantico where he is assigned to the Child Abduction and Serial Killer Unit. Tyndall is majoring in criminal justice. He graduated from Blacksburg High School in 1992. He is the son of Glenn and LaVina Tyndall of Blacksburg.

Marisa D. Winsky of Blacksburg is a recipient of a Presidential Scholarship Program award at High Point University in North Carolina. Winsky is a Presidential Scholar, which is an award for $4,500. The award is renewable each year for four years if a 3.0 grade point average is maintained. Awards are based on scholarship, leadership and citizenship.

Winsky is a graduate of Blacksburg High School. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Winsky of Blacksburg.

Rabih (Rob) Masri recently passed the Virginia Bar Exam. Masri is a graduate of the University of Virginia Law School. He has joined the Corporate & Securities Team at Hunton & Williams law office in the Washington, D.C., area.

Masri graduated from Giles High School in 1989. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1993. He is the son of Charles and Rajaa Masri of Pearisburg.
