* Virginia Tech's Psychological Counseling Service is starting a group treatment program for people who suffer panic or anxiety attacks, or from agoraphobia. Symptoms include episodes of intense fear with nausea, choking sensations, shaking or trembling, chest pain and sweating. Tech's eight-week program will be conducted by graduate students with supervision by a licensed clinical psychologist, and upon completion participants will be offered a self-help and maintenance program to prevent relapse. * The annual dinner and awards banquet of the Mental Health Association of the New River Valley is Thursday at the Farmhouse restaurant in Christiansburg.
