Details of the criminal and psychological profile Virginia State Police prepared in the U.S. 29 stalker case.
* The same suspect approached two dozen women over several months before abducting and killing Alicia Showalter Reynolds in March.
* The incidents near Culpeper all involved a man in a dark pickup truck who tried to flag down women motorists.
* The suspect is a white man of average weight, height and average intelligence. He has sandy hair and is between 35 and 45 years old.
* The suspect is probably ``employed in a blue collar, labor-type job and will be polite, quietly helpful to others and dependable.''
* He is probably guarded about his private life and may display inappropriate bursts of anger.
* He has twice used the name ``Larry Breeden,'' although police said it is unlikely that is his real name.
* Several women reported seeing a green tarp and a tool box in the man's truck.
* He is likely married or living with a woman. The relationship is probably troubled, and was especially so at the time of the Reynolds killing.
* He is likely shy around women he does not know.
* He probably has no education beyond high school, but may have some trade school experience.
* He probably has a previous, nonviolent criminal record. The record may include what Special Agent Larry McCann called ``nuisance'' sex crimes, such as stealing laundry or peering into women's windows.
``This killer is your next-door neighbor,'' a state police statement on the case said Tuesday. ``The public - you - hold in your hand the tiny piece of the puzzle that will solve this mystery.''
