A member of the Floyd County Board of Supervisors was listed in stable condition Wednesday after falling about 15 feet from a house roof Tuesday afternoon.
The LifeGuard 10 rescue helicopter flew Donald Linkous, 39, to Columbia Roanoke Memorial Hospital about 12:30 p.m. Ford Wirt, the county's emergency services coordinator, said Linkous appeared to have an arm injury and possible internal injuries. A nursing supervisor said Linkous was in stable condition Wednesday morning.
Linkous, owner of L&W Contractors, was working on a house off Virginia 8 about a half-mile from the Montgomery County line when he fell, Wirt said.
Linkous was elected to the county board about a year ago.
