entire life teaching and creating works of art. The sculptor will
talk about his career Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Blacksburg Recreation
Center. The free talk is sponsored by the Blacksburg Regional Art
Association. Now professor emeritus, Carter exhibits and travels
around the world. He recently attended the dedication of Ikenoue
Christ Church in Japan. Sixteen of his sculptures, commissioned by
Carter's former student Akira Inadomi, are in the church. Carter's
work also graces churches, hospitals and public buildings in
Blacksburg, Roanoke and the Virginia Tech campus.
