The Botetourt County Sheriff's Office has arrested three people in the last 10 days for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. The three are believed part of a small ring that gets its drugs from California.
Dale Everett Crowder, 25, and Sandra Noel Teegarden, 35, both of Botetourt, and Connie Rice, 30, of Roanoke were arrested on methamphetamine charges, as well as for possession of marijuana, Sheriff Reed Kelly said.
Deputies first searched Crowder's Cloverdale apartment on Halloween and found white powder that lab tests identified as methamphetamine, according to a search warrant affidavit. Crowder reportedly told deputies he bought the drug from Teegarden and would make another purchase from her as an informant.
Crowder never followed through, though, Kelly said. Police arrested him Wednesday morning. He is free on $15,000 bond.
Investigators had enough evidence to obtain a search warrant for Teegarden's Botetourt home anyway, Kelly said. Her house was searched last week, and investigators said they found methamphetamine and marijuana.
Teegarden was arrested along with Rice, whom police found inside the house. Teegarden and Rice are also free on bond.
