LOUIS TABOR has been named president of Litton's FiberCom division in Roanoke. He succeeds ROBERT MARTINET, who resigned from FiberCom as general manager in June.
Tabor comes to Litton from Lucent Technologies, formerly AT&T, in Silver Spring, Md., where he was general manager-sales and programs for national federal military accounts.
Litton's FiberCom division produces high-speed fiber-optic data and telecommunications equipment and networks for business and industry.
BANKING
STEVEN A. WHITLEY has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of Virginia First Savings Bank, which is based in Petersburg and has offices in Southwest Virginia. Whitley joined the bank in 1991 as the senior vice president of retail operations.
SARA L. "PAIGE" ANDERTON has been named branch manager of Valley Bank's South Roanoke office that will open in January. Anderton, who has been in banking for more than 12 years, worked for Dominion Bank and First Virginia Bank-Southwest before joining Valley Bank prior to its opening in 1995. She most recently was manager of the bank's downtown office.
HEALTH CARE
ANN KORNEGAY has joined Blue Ridge Rehab Center in Martinsville as nursing administrator. A registered nurse with 20 years experience in longterm care, Kornegay will be responsible for the administration of the nursing department, therapy and medical-related services. She comes to Blue Ridge from Liberty Healthcare, the rehabilitation center's parent company in Naples, Fla., where she was senior professional services specialist in charge of quality improvement and nursing personnel.
INSURANCE
WILLIAM T. STACK will become president of Richardson-Johnston-Wynn Inc., a personal and commercial property casualty insurance agency in Roanoke, effective Jan. 1. Stack, who has been in the insurance business since 1970, has been with Richardson-Johnston-Wynn since 1977. He succeeds JOHN R. PRILLAMAN, who has been president since 1983. Prillaman will become chairman and will remain active in the agency. FOWLER W. JOHNSTON, one of the founders of the 45-year-old agency, will retire as chairman but will continue as a director.
L. ANDRE HOWES JR. has been appointed agency manager of the Equitable Life Assurance Society's Roanoke sales office. Howes, who has been with Equitable since 1976, formerly was a district manager with the Gentry Agency in Raleigh, N.C.
ROBERT J. TURNER has been promoted to sales manager in the Roanoke district office of American General Life and Accident Insurance Co. Turner joined the company as an agent earlier this year.
