GOODE ASSIGNED

Rep.-elect Virgil Goode, D-Rocky Mount, has been selected to the House of Representatives' Committee on Agriculture.

The committee oversees programs for crops including tobacco and for dairy, livestock and poultry.

Goode is expected to resign next week from the state Senate after serving for 23 years.
