Ayers-Keesee

Kristy S. Keesee and Howy D. Ayers were married November 23, 1996 at 6:00 pm in St. John's Episcopal Church. Reverend Frank Allen officiated the service.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father, Mr. Barry R. Keesee.

Mrs. Peggy Keesee, mother of the bride, served as matron of honor. Miss Julie Wilborn, best friend of the bride, served as the maid of honor. The bridesmaids included Mrs. Sandy Jackson, Miss Luli Tyler, Mrs. Julie Shires, Ms. Wendy Ritter, Miss Tammy Rucker, Miss Retona Tolliver, all friends of the bride. Also Mrs. April Keesee and Mrs. Susan Keesee, sisters-in-law of the bride. Miss Ashley Mills, niece of the groom, was the junior bridesmaid, and Miss Megan Maddox, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.

Mr. Pete Ayers, father of the groom, served as the best man. The ushers included Mr. Richard Lawson, Mr. Billy Ritt er, Mr. Garnett Phillips, Mr. James Whittaker, all friends of the groom, Mr. Doug Ramsey, uncle of the groom, Mr. Clayton Ayers and Mr. Cheyenne Ayers, brothers of the groom, Mr. Ken Keesee and Mr. Keith Keesee, brothers of the bride. Mr. Brandon Hall, cousin of the bride, was the junior usher. Master Colton Ayers and Master Gabriel Ayers served as ring bearer's.

Mrs. Amy Enoch, friend of the bride, was the wedding director and the guest book attendant was Mrs. Sherry Hall, aunt of the bride.

After a honeymoon trip to Cancun Mexico, the couple will reside in Amherst, Virginia

Carswell-Harris

Mary Catherine Harris and Warren Rutherford Carswell, Jr. were united in marriage on Saturday, November 23, 1996 at Bowie Divinity Hall Chapel, Erskine Theological Seminary in Due West, South Carolina. Dr. William M. Harris, Jr. and Dr. Randall T. Ruble officiated. The reception was held at the Bowie Art Center.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charlie Harris of Roanoke, VA. She is the granddaughter of Nellie Harris of Spottswood, VA and the late W. Martin Harris and of Virginia Thompson of Blacksburg, VA and the late Dr. Evans G. Thompson. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Carswell of Dublin, GA.

Trish Switzer served as matron of honor, and Stephanie Hilton was maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Linda Harris, Karen Harris and Debra Henderlite. Krysta Trout and Victoria Wilkinson were flowergirls. The best man was W. R. Carswell, father of the groom. Groomsmen were David Davis, Robert Westlund, Robert Harris, and Hunter Eck. Junior groomsmen were Stephen, Michael, Brian and Benjamin Os burn. Marty Harris was the ringbearer.

The bride is a graduate of Virginia Tech and Erskine Theological Seminary. The bridegroom is a graduate of Georgia College and Erskine Theological Seminary.

The couple will reside in Donalsonville, GA.

Gerhart-Lamanca

Kristi Jamison Lamanca and Gregory Michael Gerhart were married November 23, 1996 at The Hotel Roanoke. The Rev. William Acosta of Norfolk officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis C. Jamison of Salem, Va. and the proud mother of Jayson David Lamanca. Parents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Stephen D. Stutsman of Chesapeake, Va.

The maid of honor was Ellen Jamison, of Greenville, N.C., sister of the bride. Matron of honor was Andrea Acosta, of Centreville, Va., best friend of the bride. Katrina Sherman, of Roanoke, cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid.

The best man was Steve Stutsman, of Chesapeake, Va., step-father of the groom. Groomsmen were Bill Board of Roanoke and David Duffy of Richmond, friends of the groom. Ushers were David Booth of Roanoke and Scott Labott of Richmond, friends of the groom.

Wedding music was provided by John Porrazzo and Mike McCormick, of Atlanta, Ga., friends of the bride's family. Reader was Robert Acosta, of Centreville, Va., friend of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and the University of Virginia. The groom is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and Old Dominion University and is employed by MacMillan Bloedel Building Materials.

After a wedding trip to The Greenbrier, the family will live in Roanoke.

Lesher-Hagan

Jean Cameron Hagan and Kristian Blair Lesher were married November 16, 1996 in St. John's Episcopal Church. Rev. Thomas O'Dell officiated. The reception was held in the Roanoke Country Club.

The matron of honor was Nancy Hagan Godfrey, sister of the bride, of Richmond, VA. Bridesmaids were Mary Hagan Neal of Rke. Rapids, N.C. and Sarah Johnson Hagan of Richmond, VA, sisters of the bride; Katrina Marie Lesher of Richmond, VA, sister of the groom; Carrie Earle F itzsimmons of Richmond, VA, Jacqueline Edmunds McCurdy of Roanoke, VA, Laura Garland Dearing of Roanoke, VA, and Margaret Caroline Alley of Lilburn, GA, friends.

The best man was Mr. David Ryan Lesher of Richmond, VA, father of the groom. Ushers were Brent Ryan Lesher of Richmond, VA, brother of the groom; Charles Warren Godfrey of Richmond, VA and William Kreisler Neal, Jr. of Rke. The ringbearers were William Roland Godfrey of Richmond, VA and William Kreisler Neal, III, of Rke. Rapids, N.C., nephews of the bride.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Campbell Hagan of Roanoke, VA. She is a graduate of Randolph Macon Woman's College in Lynchburg, VA, and earned a master's degree in Developmental Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. She is employed by Child Development Center at Wyndham as a preschool teacher.

The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. David Ryan Lesher of Richmond, VA. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA with a computer science engineering degree. He is employed by Circuit City Corporate Office.

The newlyweds will live in Richmond, VA after the wedding trip to Barbados.

Lingblom-Bulbin

Susan Andrea Bulbin and Robert Gray Lingblom were married Sunday, October 27, 1996 at 2:00 p.m. at Temple Emanuel in Roanoke, Virginia. Rabbi Kathy Cohen officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Frederick L. Bulbin and the late Maxine Spigel Bulbin of Roanoke, Va. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Spigel of Roanoke and the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bulbin of Miami, Fla. The groom is the son of Mrs. Julia Lingblom and the late Gunar O. Lingblom of Delray Beach, Fla.

Given in marriage by her uncle, Stanley D. Bulbin, of Miami, Fla., the bride was attended by Miss Jill Wallace Redmond, cousin of the bride, of Jacksonville, Fla., as maid of honor. The ring bearer was Master David Schlossberg of Roanoke. Mr. James Colston, of Roanoke, served as best man.

A reception at Temple Emanuel followed the ceremony.

O'Leyar-McCorkindale

Mary Catherine McCorkindale and Stephen C. O'Leyar were married October 5, 1996 in First Congregational United Church of Christ in Rochester, NY. The Rev. Dr. John Cedarleaf officiated. The reception was held at Fairport Harbor House in Rochester.

The bride's best man was Matthew McCorkindale, brother of the bride.

The best man was Michael O'Leyar, the groom's brother. Ushers were Mark Conlon, cousin of the groom, and Robert Neumann and Ken Schlafer, friends of the groom. The ringbearer was Michael John O'Leyar, nephew of the groom.

The bride's wore an ivory satin dress with a reembroidered organza bodice and chapel length train. She carried a cascading arm bouquet of white lilies and lizianthus and peach sweetheart roses.

The bride is the daughter of Jeffrey and Carolyn McCorkindale of Roanoke, VA. She attended Cave Spring High School in Roanoke and graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, MA. She is a mechanical engineer at Xerox Corp.

The groom is the son of Ed and Nancy Olivo of Rochester, NY. He is an electrical engineer at Xerox Corp.

The newlyweds will live in Rochester, NY, after a cruise to Bermuda.

Perdue-Lee

Allyson Elizabeth Lee and Jeffrey Scott Perdue were married August 2, 1996 in Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, LA. Rev. Cleo Milano officiated. The reception was held at the Old State Capitol.

The maid of honor was Jeane Elise Lee, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Miss Heidi Jo Wood of Baton Rouge, LA; Miss Michele Diane Varian of Roanoke, VA; and Mrs. Virginia Richard of Baton Rouge, LA, friends of the bride. The flowergirls were Mary Elise and Catherine Grace Schlesinger.

The best man was David Richard Perdue of Columbus, Ohio, brother of the groom. The ushers were Gregory Alan Perdue and Robert Douglas Perdue, both of Roanoke, VA, brothers of the groom; and Robert Mark Munsey of Roanoke, VA, step-brother of the groom. The candlelighters were Seamas and Logan Dore'.

The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Chapman Lee of Baton Rouge, LA. She is a graduate of Episcopal High School in Baton Rouge, LA and Roanoke College in Salem, VA. She is employed by Roanoke City Schools.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard H. Perdue of Roanoke, VA, and Mr. and Mrs. Frederick A. Munsey of Roanoke, VA. He is a graduate of Cave Spring High School in Roanoke and Radford University in Radford, VA. He is employed by Robert Smith Jeweler of Blacksburg, VA.

The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after the wedding trip to Lake Bruin, LA.

Petsko-Emory

Lisa Sterling Emory and Bryan Joseph Petsko were married November 23, 1996, in Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. H. Kelly Dampeer officiating. The reception was held at La Maison. The maid of honor was Elizabeth V. Emory, sister of bride. Matron of honor was Jill T. Sluss, friend of bride. Bridesmaids were Debby E. Bruno, cousin of bride, Tracy Brown, Ann Atchley and Kelly S. Blosser, friends of bride. Dr. Gregory A. Petsko, brother of groom, served as best man. Ushers were Douglas Melroy, brother-in-law of groom, Kip Foster, Ron Schwartz and Tedd Schwartz, friends of groom. The candlelighters were Ron Schwartz and Tedd Schwartz. The guestbook was attended by Tory Melroy, niece of groom, and Catherine Clark, cousin of bride. The bride wore a candlelight silk shantung sheath gown with pearl beading on bodice and train. She carried a cascade of white bridal roses with ivy and wax flowers. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Emory, Roanoke. She graduated from Northside High School, Roanoke, a nd Virginia Tech, Blacksburg. She is employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Petsko, Moneta, Va. He graduated from Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, and is employed by Acme Business Machines in Roanoke. The newlyweds will honeymoon in Hawaii.

Roberts-Surface

Laura Eleanor Surface and Elliott Carstens Roberts, Jr. were united in marriage on October 12, 1996 at 11 a.m. at Tazewell Baptist Church in Tazewell, Virginia. The Rev. Mr. Robert Belcher and Dr. Thomas A. Conley officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Shelton Surface of Tazewell. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elliott Carstens Roberts of Carpinteria, California and the late Mrs. Ottilie Richter Roberts.

Music was provided by Louise Leslie, pianist, The Rev. Mr. G. Thomas Mustard, vocalist, The Rev. Mr. Robert Belcher, violinist, Jeff Sebens and David Crawford on hammered dulcimer, guitar and mandolin.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents. She wore an elegant ivory silk gown featuring a high illusion neckline, long fitted sleeves, and a Venise lace overlay accented with handbeaded pearls and sequins, falling to a sweep train. Her fingertip illusion veil was attached to a headpiece featuring rosebuds, pearls and ribbon streamers. She carried a silk bouquet created by her sister, Julia Fox.

Lauren A. Fox of Tazewell, niece of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Julia S. Fox of Tazewell and Jennifer S. Stoker of Wytheville, sisters of the bride, and Paula R. Cook of Norfolk, sister of the bridegroom. JennyAnn Leister of Woodbridge was flower girl. Bridal attendants wore off-the-shoulder gowns in royal, plum, hunter, and red, and carried bouquets of yellow mums.

James B. Cook of Norfolk, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, was best man. Groomsmen were Thomas E. Cook of Norfolk, nephew of the bridegroom, Andrew D. Fox of Tazewell, nephew of the bride, and Dr. Michael H. Stoker of Wytheville, brother-in-law of the bride.

Danielle Dupre of Auburn, Massachusetts, cousin of the bride, attended the guest book. Nancy Chambers of Tazewell directed the wedding.

A reception was held at Fincastle Country Club with music provided by Jeff Sebens and David Crawford of Fancy Gap, and special entertainment presented by George M. Dickerson of Tazewell and Frederic L. Dupre of Auburn, Massachusetts.

The bride is a graduate of Tazwell High School, The College of William and Mary, and Peabody College. She is director of Tazewell County Public Library. The bridegroom is a graduate of The Robert Louis Stevenson School, Pebble Beach, California, and Denison University. He is employed by the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington, D.C.

After a honeymoon on the Outer Banks, the couple resides in Annandale and Tazewell.

Settles-Newman

Jalenda Dawn Newman and Mark Anthony Settles were married November 23, 1996 in Palestine Baptist Church, with the Rev. Chris Fowler and the Rev. Danny Newman, uncle of the bride, officiating. The reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

Matron of honor was Jeanene Gillette, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Crystie Crockett, friend of the bride; Tonya Dellis, cousin of the bride; Rebecca Divers, Tina Huddleston, and Regina Kirby, friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Candice Smith, the groom's niece. Lindsey Wilson, cousin of the bride, was flowergirl.

Best man was Jimmy Settles, father of the groom. The ushers were Tony Lloyd, friend of the groom; Donavon Newman, brother of the bride; Jeff Settles, brother of the groom; Matt VerSluis, Scott VerSluis, friends of the groom; Adam Alexander, Jonathon Alexander, Cory Wilson, cousins of the br ide. The groom's nephew, Brandon Settles, was ringbearer. Guestbook attendants were Rebekah Alexander and Olivia Witt, cousins of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Johnie and Glenda Newman of Huddleston. She is a graduate of Staunton River High School, Moneta, and Lynchburg College, Lynchburg. She is employed by Bedford County Schools.

The groom is the son of Jimmy and Nancy Settles of Chamblisburg. He is a graduate of Staunton River High School, Moneta. He is employed by Precision Fabrics Group, Inc.

The newlyweds will live in Huddleston.

Taylor-Dyck

Sara Jane Dyck and Crawford Logan Taylor, III were married Saturday, October 26, 1996, at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama. A reception followed at Vestavia Hills Country Club.

The bride is the younger daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Robert Gilkey Dyck of Blacksburg, Virginia. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Benjamin Dyck of Blacksburg, and Mr. and Mrs. Zoltan Adamosi of Budapest, Hungary. She is a graduate of Randolph-Macon Woman's College.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Crawford Logan Taylor, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama. He is the grandson of Mrs. Crawford Logan Taylor and the late Mr. Taylor of Aniston, Alabama, and Mrs. Henry Melvin Smyth and the late Mr. Smyth of Opelika, Alabama. He is a graduate of Emory University and the Thunderbird Graduate School of International Business.

The bride was given in marriage by her mother and father. She wore a silk white gown with a bolero styled jacket adorned with seed pearls and lace.

The sister of the bride, Henrika Dyck Taylor, of New York, NY, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Merryl Taylor, sister of the groom, of Hattiesburg, MS; Juli Mortz of Washington, D.C.; Catherine Kennedy Forfar and Tracy Shackelford of Atlanta, GA; Paige Coates Hamilton of Charlotte, NC; Susannah Raine of Richmond, VA; and Lauren Hill Goonan of Sugarland, TX.

The groom's father was best man. Groomsmen were Andy Taylor, brother-in-law of the bride, of New York; Bryon Billions, Bradley McGill, and Ted Pewitt of Birmingham, AL; Mark Brown and Tommy Mills of Atlanta; and John West of Phoenix, AZ. Ushers were Melvyn Smyth, Jr., uncle of the groom, of Snellville, GA; and Michael Pair of Birmingham, AL.

The bride was formerly employed at the Robinson-Humphrey Co., Inc., in Atlanta. The groom is employed in Birmingham at Merrill Lynch. Following their wedding trip to Grand Cayman, the couple have made their home in Birmingham, AL.

Tuck-Pagans

Kimberly Marie Pagans and Ricky Marvin Tuck were united in marriage on Saturday, November 23, 1996 at Halesford Baptist Church in Wirtz. Reverend Steven Pasley and Reverend Tommy Speight officiated the ceremony. A reception followed in the church fellowship hall.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Pagans of Moneta. She is a graduate of Virginia Western Community College Radiography program and is employed by Carilion.

The groom is the son of Mrs. Gaynelle and Mr. Marvin Tuck of Moneta. He is a graduate of Staunton River High School and is employed at Tuck's Tire and Auto.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. The maid of honor was Melanie Salyers, friend o f the bride. Bridesmaids were Shelly Simmons and Becky Hodges, cousins of the bride; Stephanie Brabson and Jennifer Parker, friends of the bride; and Harmony Richards, niece of the groom. Flowergirl was Dana Richards, niece of the groom.

The best man was Marvin Tuck, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Trey Richards, nephew of the groom, Jeff Cox, Curt Woolwine and Paul Lawhorn, cousins of the groom; Mark Kaynor, friend of the groom. Ringbearer was Tyler Richards, nephew of the groom.

Soloist was Mrs. Sally McKinney. Pianist was Mr. David Gregory. Organist was Mrs. Kay Gregory.

The guestbook and program attendants were Connie Lemon and Regina Jones.

The wedding was directed by Darlene McGuire of Hardy and co-directed by Debbie Simmons of Wirtz. Floral arrangements and decorations were created by Darlene McGuire of Hardy.

The newlyweds will live in Moneta after a wedding trip to the Pocanos.
