WOMAN SHOT IN APPARENT DOMESTIC FIGHT

A Radford woman was shot to death early Sunday in what police said may have been a domestic dispute. A man who lived with the woman is charged with the killing.

Police responded to an apartment at 1708 Grove Ave. about 6:02 a.m., after receiving a shooting call, and found Melissa Ann Dyal, 21, who died prior to the officers' arrival, police said.

Chad Joseph LaRue, 26, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder.

A $35,000 bond was set for LaRue. He was, however, still being held in the Radford city jail as of 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

LaRue and the woman are not believed to be Radford University students, police said.

No other crimes were committed against the woman.

Police would not release further information related to the shooting.
