CHASE SUSPECT DROPS EXTRADITION FIGHT

The 42-year-old Baltimore man who allegedly led authorities on a chaotic 80-mile, high-speed bus pursuit earlier this month waived his right Monday to an extradition hearing.

In an unscheduled hearing in Prince William General District Court, Dewane Edward Rickman, dropped his fight to stay in the Prince William-Manassas regional jail.

He will be returned to Maryland to stand trial.

Prince William Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Michael Dixon decided not to prosecute Rickman.

Rickman is scheduled for a hearing in Stafford General District Court on Dec. 11 on charges of driving without a commercial driver's license, reckless driving, driving under the influence of drugs in a commercial vehicle and not wearing a seat belt.

The wild chase began about 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 5, when Rickman allegedly stole a Maryland Transit Administration bus.
