The Town of Vinton has begun interviews to fill the position of finance director/treasurer.
Mayor Charles Hill said about 40 people have applied for the job and members of town council will interview some of them in a series of special sessions over the next several months.
The job is vacant because the previous director, Shona Ringgenberg, moved away from Vinton in October because her husband took a job in Illinois.
Assistant Finance Director Ramon Cantor is directing the office until a new director is chosen.
