      sponsored by the Pulaski County Jaycees. The sponsor was incorrectly 
      listed in Saturday's Current. Also, Radford's Christmas parade will 
      begin at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9. The date was incorrect in Saturday's 
      Current.


CHRISTMAS PARADES START NEXT WEEK

Christmas parades in the New River Valley start next week. Here's a rundown:

*Pulaski starts the holiday marching at 7 p.m. Thursday. Lineup begins at 6 p.m. Sponsored by the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, the parade's theme is "Celebrating the Greatest Gift Ever Given!" The rain or snow date is 7 p.m. Dec. 12.

*Blacksburg gets things rolling with a performance by the Blacksburg Community Band at the Main Street Post Office at 12:30 p.m. next Saturday. The downtown parade begins at 1 p.m. The parade's theme is "Visions of Snowflakes." Sponsored by Blacksburg Parks and Recreation and the Virginia Tech Chapter of Circle K, the rain date will be 7 p.m. Dec. 9.

*The Christiansburg parade will be at 6 p.m. next Saturday. Sponsored by the Christiansburg Jaycees and the Christiansburg-Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, the theme is "Christmas Through a Child's Eyes."

*Floyd's parade, "Let's Keep Christ in Christmas," will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday. The sponsor is the Floyd County Merchants and Businessmen's Association.

*The Christmas parade in downtown Radford will begin at 7 p.m. Monday. The theme is "Peace on Earth" and the parade is sponsored by the Radford Kiwanis Club for Main Street Radford.
