A Marion man was killed early Friday in a single-vehicle accident in Smyth County.
State police said 31-year-old Jackie Dean Eggers was killed when he apparently drove off the side of U.S. 11, over-corrected and struck a tree on the opposite side of the highway.
The accident occurred at about 1:45 a.m. just west of Marion.
