AREA CHEFS TO JOIN IN AUCTION

New River Valley residents will get a chance to sample the creations of some of the valley's best chefs at a chef's auction sponsored by the March of Dimes Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at Virginia Tech's Donaldson Brown Hotel and Conference Center.

Residents can sample the food and then bid on dining experiences at restaurants in the New River Valley and Roanoke.

Participating restaurants, dining facilities and stores include: Alexander's, the Blacksburg Marriott, Boudreaux's, Columbia Montgomery Regional Hospital, Columbia Pulaski Regional Hospital, the Donaldson Brown Hotel and Conference Center, Harris Teeter, Impaxx, Red Lobster, and the Outback Steakhouse.

Patrick Evans and Melanie Moon from WDBJ Channel 7 will emcee the event. Participating chefs will appear on the station's Larry Dowdy Morning Show Monday at 6 a.m.
