Have you ever dreamed of singing in front of kings and queens? If not royalty, then how about the president and first lady?
Members of the Roanoke College Children's Choir will sing for President and Mrs. Clinton and others attending a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony Thursday at the White House.
The tree-lighting ceremony, known this year as the "Pageant of Peace," will be Thursday at 5 p.m. You can watch it on the C-Span cable television channel.
The 65 choir members, ages 11 to 18, will share the stage with the Clintons and several other famous performers, including singers LeAnn Rimes and Patti LaBelle, the musical group Mannheim Steamroller, the U.S. Army Band and Willard Scott, the weatherman on NBC's "Today" show.
There also is a possibility the choir will appear on the "Today" show with Scott, possibly on Friday.
You can hear the choir in person during two Christmas performances at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Roanoke. The first is scheduled for Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m., and the other is Dec. 15 at 3 p.m. Admission charge for both is $3 for adults and $1 for children.
