CHURCH THANKED FOR DINNERS

When Shirley Logan of Salem made her donation to the Good Neighbors Fund, she decided to honor the Salem Presbyterian Church and its pastor, Dean Lindsey, for showing the community what being a good neighbor is all about. For the past five years, the church has provided Thanksgiving dinner for anyone who otherwise would be alone for the holiday.

This year, members of the congregation donated food and volunteered their time to make Thanksgiving dinner possible for more than 100 people.

In addition to cooking and serving the meal at the church, members provided transportation for people to come to the feast and delivered meals to people who were unable to come in, such as the infirm and on-duty members of the local rescue squad and fire department.
