THE CAVALIERS' outstanding point guard lost feeling in her legs, but is recovering nicely in Georgia.
Tora Suber, an All-America point guard for the Virginia women's basketball team, has regained the feeling in her legs after suffering an injury during a Wednesday night game against Georgia.
Suber was injured with 9:18 remaining in Georgia's 77-56 victory. She was fouled by the Bulldogs' Brandi Decker and crashed to the floor, landing on her back. Georgia trainer DeAnn Koehler said Suber had no feeling or movement below the waist after the fall.
Suber was taken to St. Mary's Hospital, where X-rays of her back showed no broken bones.
``Everything looks good,'' said Virginia trainer Jeff Kawaguchi, speaking from Suber's hospital room. ``All of her feeling and sensations have come back, but they want to keep her here another day as a precaution.''
The senior from Downingtown, Pa., scored six points against Georgia and is averaging 13.8 for the season.
Suber definitely will not play in Virginia's home game Saturday against Wake Forest. The Cavaliers' next game after Wake is Dec.19 at University Hall against Rider.
