Virginia tailback Tiki Barber captured another award Friday when he was named Eastern College Athletic Conference Division I-A Football Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Barber, a senior from Cave Spring High School in Roanoke, rushed for 1,360 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Cavaliers during the regular season. He is the first player in 40 years to lead the ACC in rushing, all-purpose yards (1,859) and punt returns in the same season.
