Two little girls helped save their mother from a gunman who grabbed her outside a gym, police said.
The girls, ages 9 and 4, screamed and ran for help while the 32-year-old Woodbridge woman, who asked not to be identified, wrestled with the attacker.
The gunman subsequently ran into a nearby wooded area but was cornered by gym employees.
The suspect, Jason Mathew Morrow, 24, of Dumfries, was being held without bond, said police Lt. Charles Reid.
According to Officer Steve Hargrave, the assailant came up behind the woman, put a gun to her side and started pulling her toward a dark area next to the gym.
Her daughters, waiting inside the van, saw what was happening and got out. The 4-year-old stood nearby screaming, ``Don't hurt my Mommy.'' The 9-year-old yelled and then ran inside the gym for help.
