SHARYN MCCRUMB AND HER CHILDREN TO SIGN BOOKS

Award-winning author Sharyn McCrumb and two of her children will sign copies of their story in a new book, "Great Writers and Kids Write Mystery Stories" (Random House, $12.99 trade paperback), from 1 to 3 p.m. today at Ram's Head Book Shop in the Towers Shopping Center, Dec. 14 at Blue Ridge Books in Wytheville and Dec. 21 at Waldenbooks in Christiansburg's New River Valley Mall.

McCrumb collaborated with son Spencer, 9, and daughter Laura, 8, on a story titled "Typewriter Man."
