BLACKSBURG ENGINEER LEAVES FOR NORTHERN VIRGINIA JOB

David Voglesong, town engineer since 1989, announced this week he is resigning to become the town manager of Dumfries in Northern Virginia.

"Blacksburg's a great place to work. But this is an opportunity I couldn't pass up," he said.

Voglesong, 36, a Martinsville native, will leave his present job Jan. 2 and begin work in Dumfries Jan. 6.

He will supervise a staff of about 25 employees in Dumfries, a town of about 5,000 residents in eastern Prince William County, right off Interstate 95.
