HEADING SOUTH? HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Heading to the Orange Bowl? Here's what to ask and what to know:

* What kind of emergency arrangements have been planned in case of inclement weather or other problems?

* If a mishap occurs, who foots the bill and what kind of accommodations will be provided?

* If you sign up for a package that includes tickets, make sure you have the tickets in your hand before you leave.

* Pro Player Stadium, site of the Orange Bowl, is actually in North Miami, halfway to Fort Lauderdale. Unless you want to rent a car, make sure your package includes transportation to and from the airport, the game and perhaps other sites in the area.

* Pay attention to what hotel is selected, whether it sits on the beach, close to the stadium, near any sightseeing and in a safe part of town.

* Tickets will be available at Virginia Tech on Monday morning at 9 a.m., with doors to the ticket window in Cassell Coliseum open at 8 a.m.

Tickets are $60 each, with a maximum of four per order. Call locally at 231-6731 or (800) 828-3244.
