Radford High School senior Charlee Taylor and Shawsville sophomore Megan Forster made the Associated Press All-Group A girls basketball second team.
Taylor was third in Timesland in scoring at 21.0 points per game and ninth in assists (4.4).
Forster led Timesland in scoring with 22.4 points per game and was ninth in rebounding (10.0).
Honaker's Misty Davis was named the AP's 1996 Group A player of the year. The 5-foot-3 Davis averaged 17.5 points, 8 assists and 7 steals in 1996, leading Honaker to a 23-4 record and a spot in the state semifinals.
A statewide panel of sportswriters also selected seniors Sarah DiNardo of state champion Woodstock Central, Lori O'Quinn of Haysi, Erin Perry of Wilson Memorial and junior Ivana Bailey of Surry County to the first team.
Roger Wilkins, who guided Woodstock Central to a 26-2 mark and the Group A championship, is the coach of the year. The Falcons beat Wilson Memorial and Haysi for the title.
Joining Taylor and Forster on the second team were: Rasheeda Martin of King & Queen, Stepanie Lane of Woodstock Central and Dawn Major of Wilson Memorial.

* Bridgewater College high jumper Von Lewis broke his own school record with a 7-foot-1/4 jump at the VMI Invitational in Lexington on Saturday.
It is the first time Lewis, a Christiansburg High School graduate who also plays football for the Eagles, has cleared seven feet. Lewis automatically qualifies for the NCAA Division III Indoor Championship on March 7-8, 1997, at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
* Golfer Chip Sullivan of Roanoke was one shot off the leaders after Sunday's fifth round of the $150,000 PGA qualifying tournament at the 7,105-yard La Purisima Golf Club. Sullivan shot a 71 to tie Doug Barron of Memphis, Tenn., who had a 69 at 353.
Allen Doyle of LaGrange, Ga., and Jimmy Johnston of Louisville, Ky., were tied for the lead. Doyle, 48, carded a 4-under-par 68 at the 7,105-yard La Purisima Golf Club on Sunday, giving him a 90-hole total of 352. Johnston, 27, had a 70 in the fifth round.
The sixth and final round will be played today, with the winner of the tournament earning $15,000 and the low 40 scorers and ties getting 1997 PGA Tour cards. The next 70 and ties receive Nike Tour cards.
* Tailback Tiki Barber was named his team's Outstanding Offensive Player for 1996 at the annual Virginia football banquet on Sunday, the second straight year he has received the award.
Outside linebackers James Farrior and Jamie Sharper shared the Outstanding Defensive Player award.
In addition, defensive end Duane Ashman recieved the Colonel Frank C. McCue Award as Virginia's Outstanding Interior Lineman; center Tom Locklin received the Joe Palumbo Award for self-sacrifice, dedication and enthusiasm; defensive tackle Todd White received the John Polzer Award for ability, sportsmanship and character; and defensive tackle Johnny Shivers received the Speed Elliott Award as the team's Most Improved Player.
Virginia (7-4) plays Miami on Dec.27 in the Carquest Bowl in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
