PURSE SNATCHER ROBS RESTAURANT EMPLOYEE

An employee of Papa John's Pizza in Southwest Roanoke County was robbed early Saturday as she walked to her car.

The clerk had locked up the restaurant at 3109 Brambleton Avenue S.W. about 3:30 a.m., Roanoke County police said, when a person walked up behind her, grabbed her purse and fled on foot. No weapon was used.

The purse contained restaurant earnings from that night, but police would not disclose the amount taken. The clerk was not injured.
