Martinsville (2-1) was led by Kelsey Green's 17 points, followed closely by Jason Wells with 16 and David Walker with 14. That balanced attact helped negate the offensive show by Tillman, who had 19 points by halftime to keep Dan River in the game.
Martinsville won the fourth quarter 24-14 but made only 18 of 32 free throws for the game.

Koontz scored eight of his points in the first quarter as Morehead jumped to a 23-12 lead. But the Warriors battled back in the second quarter and kept the game tight. The Warriors tied the score with under 10 seconds remaining but Morehead was able to quickly break a press for a Koontz layup for the win. Chance Brown led Morehead with 17 points.
