It's been quite a morning!
The alarm rang at 6:13. I stepped out of bed, right onto the tail of my son's black cat, who zigzagged in front of me as I walked to the bathroom.
My elbow hit the mirrored medicine cabinet door, and it shattered before I could say, ``What's today's date again?''.
I went to get the newspaper and had to stoop under the ladder the roofer had left up, then stepped on a crack while I was walking back into the house. Better see if Mom's OK. I noticed the upside-down horseshoe over the front door was crooked.
At breakfast, when I was cleaning up the salt I spilled, I saw some pennies on the floor. None of them were on ``heads.'' I counted them as I picked them up - 12, 13.
I phoned the bagel store to order a baker's dozen, then washed my car. Funny, it began to rain just as I finished.
I went inside, opened my umbrella, then walked outside, whistling. An owl hooted three times in the distance.
As I walked counterclockwise around my car to get in, I thought, this feels like my lucky day. Think I'll buy a lottery ticket.
