          become the Clarion Hotel at midnight on New Year's Eve, reflecting a
          change in the national brand under new owners. Workers with Budget 
          Signs of Roanoke installed its new sign Wednesday. General manager 
          Gary Powell said employees will begin using the new name today just 
          to get the feel of it. The new owner, Choice Hotels International of
          Silver Spring, Md., bought the hotel, off Hershberger Road, a year 
          ago and has spent $2.25million to renovate it.
