Ham biscuit haven closes
WYTHEVILLE - A half-century Wytheville landmark is gone.
Durham's Restaurant, a popular eating place for area residents for nearly 50 years and a specialist in ham biscuits, has closed.
The restaurant, owned and operated by two generations of the Durham family, started in a location on Main Street in the building where Edith Bolling, who became the second wife of President Woodrow Wilson, was born. More than 20 years ago, it moved to a new building at Main and 11th streets.
No plans for the property have been announced yet.
