The way the state deals with complaints about judges should be open to public scrutiny, a legislative panel decided.
The House of Delegates subcommittee also is considering a provision that would require the Judicial Inquiry and Review Commission to tell people who file complaints what was done in response. Now, the commission typically tells complainants that the matter was ``handled in accordance with'' the law.
