OHIO UNIVERSITY grabbed an early lead and kept increasing it against its visitors from the New River Valley.
Curtis Simmons scored 23 points and Geno Ford had 20 as Ohio beat Radford 83-65 Saturday.
The Bobcats (4-3) also got 18 points from Ed Sears.
Anthony Walker had 20 points and Kevin Robinson 10 for the Highlanders (5-4).
The Bobcats took the lead for good 1:57 into the first half on a 3-pointer by Jason Grunkemeyer. He scored again with two seconds to go before intermission to give Ohio a 43-27 halftime lead.
Ohio led by as many as 24 points and Radford never got closer than 14 in the second half.
Ohio hit 66 percent of its shots in the first half and 57 percent for the game. Radford shot 47 percent.
