Barnett-Hudgins

Amy P. Barnett and J. Scott Hudgins are engaged and planning to be married on August 2, 1997, in Yorktown, Va. Miss Barnett is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Jewel M. Barnett of Yorktown, Va., and Ms. Jean Trask. She graduated from James Madison University and is employed by the Alexandria School System. Mr. Hudgins is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Hudgins of Winter Haven, Fla. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. H. P. Grasty of Roanoke and also Mrs. J. B. Hudgins of Roanoke. He graduated from James Madison University and is employed by Freddie Mac.

Bowers-Draper

Mary Lynn Bowers and Robert L. Draper are engaged and planning to be m arried on May 17th, 1997 in Salem, Va. Mary Lynn is the daughter of Mrs. Mary A. Bowers and the late Mr. Homer A. Bowers of Roanoke, Va. She graduated from Patrick Henry High School and Radford University and is employed by Atlantic-Mutual Insurance Co. Robert is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Draper of Roanoke, Va. He graduated from Patrick Henry High School and Virginia Military Institute and is employed by Noble-Met Ltd

Cole-Lacy

Mr. and Mrs. James S. Vaught of Rural Retreat, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Stephen R. Cole of Blacksburg, Va., announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Robin Claire Cole of Blacksburg, Va., to Mr. Edgar Willis Lacy IV of Richmond, Va., son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Willis Lacy III of Richmond, Va.

Miss Cole is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Coy Raymond Cole of Lynchburg, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leo Geddry of Monett, Mo. Mr. Lacy is the grandson of Mrs. Edgar Willis Lacy, Jr., and the late Dr. Lacy of Winchester, Va., and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Raymond Woodall of Danville, Va.

Miss Cole and Mr. Lacy attended Virginia Tech and graduated in May 1995 with Bachelor degrees in Aerospace/Ocean Engineering. Both are currently working as engineers in Alexandria, Va.

A July wedding is planned in Blacksburg, Va.

Costanzo-Comley

Camie Costanzo and Walt Comley are engaged and planing to be married in the Fall of 1997 in Roanoke, Va. She is the daughter of John and Cam Costanzo of Troutville, Va. She graduated from Lord Botetourt High School and Va. Tech and is employed by the Patrick Henry hotel. He is the son of Roger and Ann Comley of Athens, Ga. He was graduated from Blacksburg High School and attended Va. Tech. He is employed as the general manager of the AmeriSuites hotel

Gibson-Rowell

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Richard Gibson of Roanoke, Virginia, announce the engagement of their daughter, Melanie Dawn, to Mr. Timothy Scott Rowell, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rowell, Jr., of Trumbull, Connecticut.

A February wedding is planned in Athens, Georgia.

Griggs-Otterman

Julie A. Griggs and John W. Otterman are pleased to announce th eir engagement as of July 13, 1996. Julie is the daughter of Roy and Nancy Griggs of Evington, Va. Mandy Kay Jones and Trey Scott Miller are engaged and planning to be married on September 5, 1997 in Vinton, Va. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Jones of Vinton. She is a graduate of Staunton River High School and is employed by Retired Persons Services (RPS) Trey is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary L. Miller, Sr. of Goodview. He is a graduate of Staunton River High School and is employed by Advance Auto Parts Warehouse.

Neel-Orr

Mr. and Mrs. Raymond L. Neel and Mr. and Mrs. Montie R. Orr, Sr., are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter and son. Angela D. Neel and Montie R. Orr, Jr., are planning a private family ceremony at the southwest home of the groom's parents. A reception for friends and family to celebrate together as these best friends join in marriage will be held at The Patrick Henry Hotel, a Downtown Roanoke Landmark. Angela is employed as Credit Manager for Lee Hartman & Sons, Inc. Montie is the owner of Southwest Development Company General Contractors.

A February 14, 1997, Valentine's Day 6:00 p.m. evening wedding is planned.

Terry-Shockley

Mr. Robert M. Terry of Roanoke is pleased to announce the engagement of his daughter, Lisa Ann Terry, to Robert Lee Shockley of Vinton. Lisa is also the daughter of the late Kitty Terry. Robert Shockley is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Shockley of Vinton. A September 1997 wedding is planned.

Taylor-Hayslett

Jennifer JoAnn Taylor and Travis Brand Hayslett are engaged to be married in March 1997 in Roanoke, Va.

She is the daughter of Darryl F. Taylor and Ms. Shirley L. Taylor. Sh e graduated from William Byrd High School and is employed by the First Church of God.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Hayslett of Vinton, Va. He graduated from William Byrd High School and is employed by Virginia Fiberglass.

Stuart-Puckett

Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Stuart of Roanoke are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Shelby Leigh Stuart, to Timothy W. Puckett of Saltville.

Shelby is a graduate of William Byrd High School and a member of Colonial Baptist Church.

Tim is the son of Mrs. Mary Sue Puckett and the late Harold M. Puckett of Saltville. He is a graduate of R. B. Worthy High School and Emory & Henry College and a member of Main Street Christian Church of Saltville. He is employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs in Roanoke.

A July 1997 wedding is planned.

Proctor-Thomas

Shannon Michele Proctor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney E. Proctor of Pinch, West, Virginia, and Charles Minter Thomas, son of Dr. and Mrs. Fred B. Thomas III of Bedford, Va., are pleased to announce their engagement. Shannon is a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School in Clendenin, West Virginia, and holds an undergraduate degree in English from Radford University as well as a Master's degree in Instruction from the University of Virginia. Charles is a graduate of Liberty High School and holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Technology from Old Dominion University. Both are employed as teachers by Bedford County Public Schools. A July 1997 wedding is planned.

Herndon-Goetten

Natasacha Sabrina Herndon and Steven John Goetten are engaged and planning to be married on April 11, 1997, at the Vinton War Memorial in Vinton, Va. Sabrina is the daughter of Doak R. and Sharon Kai Herndon. She was graduated from New Port Pacific High School. Sabrina is employed by Spinnakers Restaurant. Steve is the son of Urick and Kathy Alldredge. He was graduated from New Port Pacific High School. Steve is employed by Fuel Oil and Equipment Company. A Florida honeymoon is planned.

Pitts-Colonna

Elizabeth Anne Pitts and Paul M. Colonna are engaged and are planning to be married April 5, 1997, in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Pitts, Jr., of Roanoke. She was graduated from Northside High School and received her B.S. and Master degrees from James Madison University. She is employed by Loudon County schools.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert M. Colonna of Chevy Chase, Maryland. He was graduated from Georgetown Preparatory School, Villanova University, and received a M.B.A. from the University of Maryland. He is employed by Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation in McLean, Virginia.
