ARTRIP SPARKS RADFORD VICTORY

Adam Artrip scored 19 of his game-high 21 points in the first half, hitting five 3-pointers, as Radford rolled past Christiansburg 68-52 on the Bobcats' floor Monday night in a non-district battle of New River Valley rivals.

John Robertson had 15 points and Tony Hash added 14 for Radford, which outscored the Blue Demons 27-11 in the second quarter to take control.

Michael Kazee scored 11 points and Scott Baker had 10 for Christiansburg.

Parry McCluer 82, Roanoke Catholic 45: Parry McCluer ran its record to 6-0 with a non-district victory over the Celtics in Buena Vista.

Five Parry McCluer scorers finished in double figures, led by guard David Downs with 19 points. Mike Decker scored 14, Mike Clark 11 and David Coleman and Damian Beverly 10.

Roanoke Catholic (1-6) was led by Brendan McCarthy's 19 points. Terron Reed added 13.

Magna Vista 64, Halifax County 52: Markus Hairston scored six of his 20 points in the fourth quarter as the Warriors upended the Comets in Ridgeway.

Magna Vista (5-2) outscored Halifax County 21-12 in the decisive third quarter to take a nine-point lead.

Landa Martin pulled down 12 rebounds and scored all nine of his points in the final period for the Warriors.

Savaughn Bailey scored 10 points to pace the Comets.
